William Shakespeare

Who is William Shakespeare? Some of you might think that’s a dumb question, but I can tell you, it’s not. If Shakespeare didn’t exist, than our society would be totally different. For example; his plays are the most preformed plays EVER! His style of writing was different from most playwrights’ at the time, and his writing revolutionized the play industry for good! So, back to the question; who is William Shakespeare? William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright. He is considered one of the greatest writers of all time! Of course there are haters out there that disagree, but we can ignore those people!

Though his birthdate is unknown, I do know the day he got baptized (is that a good compromise?). Shakespeare was baptized on April 26th, 1564. He grew up in a very small, English town called; Stratford-upon-Avon with his mother, Mary Shakespeare, and father, John Shakespeare. In 1582 Shakespeare married a woman named Anne Hathaway. You might be thinking that Anne Hathaway found the fountain of youth, but they are two completely different people. What do you know! Shakespeare then moved to London in 1592 to further his acting carrier. He took an interest in writing and slowed down on acting to start writing.

Here is the good part! Not too long after he began writing his plays, the leading theater company in London called the Lord Chamberlain’s Men started to preform Shakespeare’s plays, and the Lord Chamberlain’s Men were the only play company to perform Shakespeare’s shows! Now-a-days, a lot of theater companies preform his plays! His most notable works are: Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Taming of the Shrew, and Julius Cesar. Shakespeare’s productions were performed at the Globe Theater in London. If you want to know more about the Globe Theater go to school at RonPaulCurriculam.com! Shakespeare died on April 23rd, 1616.

William Shakespeare is a great poet/playwright and we can all learn something from his story: NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS! And it’s true! If you want to go to the moon, you have to keep on climbing that mountain until you reach the top! I hope you gained a little more knowledge today because knowledge is power! Now when someone asks you, “Who is William Shakespeare?” you will know the answer!
